JONESBORO, Ark. (4/15/25) – Jack Maxey carded a career-best 8-under 64 in the third round of the A-State Spring Invitational, earning individual medalist honors and leading the Red Wolves to the team crown Tuesday at RidgePointe Country Club.
Maxey’s score is tied for third in program history, while A-State’s 54-hole total of 36-under 828 set a program best in a spring event and was 35 strokes better than runner-up Xavier (-1). Maxey finished at a season-best 12-under 204 for the event and was one of five Red Wolves in the top seven of the individual leaderboard.
Runner-up Jake Lile finished one stroke behind Maxey, finishing at even-par on the day but compiled a career-best 11-under 205 through 54 holes. Thomas Schmidt (-7) tied for third with a third-round 1-under 71, while Chris Somerfield and Jake Wallis each finished 2-under 214 to tie for seventh.
Three Red Wolves competed as individuals, led by Milan Reed who tied for 11th at an even-par 216. Pierce Johnson tied for 19th at a 4-over 220 while Cole Kirby was 16-over par 232 to tie for 51st.
A-State now turns its attention to the Sun Belt Conference Championship, held April 21-24, at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Miss.
