SAN MARCOS, Texas/AUSTIN, Texas/BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (3/28/25) – For the second time in as many days, a school record fell for the Arkansas State track and field team, as Carly Pujol broke the program record in the women’s pole vault on Friday at the Bobcat Invitational.
Pujol’s event-winning mark of 4.30m (14-1.25) shattered Stephanie Foreman’s record of 4.17m (13-9.25) set in 2013. In Section B, KG Ryan cleared 3.45m (11-3.75).
Menachem Chen moved up to seventh in school history in the men’s shot put, winning the event with a throw of 17.73m (58-2).
In the 100-meter hurdles at Texas, Tyra Nabors ran a season-best 13.94 in an eighth-place finish, while Will Glass ran a season-best 14.41 in the 110-meter hurdles prelims.
At the UAB Spring Invitational, Andrew Mason won the men’s 2000-meter steeplechase (6:23.16) and Noah McMurtrey was fourth (6:35.94).
Gabe Falting (2nd, 8:49.35), Ian Horton (6th, 8:57.76) and Zeke McCain (8th, 9:00.66) earned top-10 finishes in the men’s 3000 meters, while Abigail Tomberlin was seventh in the women’s race with a time of 11:14.83.
Chris Boyd placed 10th in the shot put at the Texas Relays with a throw of 16.46m (54-0).
Liya Guy threw a season-best 11.77m (38-7.5) to place 26th in the women’s shot put, and also registered a mark of 33.72m (110-7) to place 29th in the hammer throw.
Matthew Williams jumped 6.71m (22-0.25) in the men’s long jump, placing 24th.
Action concludes Saturday in Austin, San Marcos and Birmingham, with portions of the Texas Relays being streamed live on SEC Network+.
