JONESBORO, Ark. (4/16/25) – For the second time this season, Arkansas State women’s tennis standout Anna Grigoreva has been named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced Wednesday.
Grigoreva went unbeaten last weekend, going a combined 2-0 in doubles and singles without surrendering a set in A-State’s 5-0 win over Southern Miss.
In Saturday’s win, the Kazan, Russia, native teamed up with Carla Muro Castellvi at No. 1 doubles to defeat USM’s Sakura Sudo and Miranda Xu 6-2. She then followed it with a match-clinching 6-1, 6-2 victory over Hannah Chambers at No. 1 singles, improving the Red Wolves to their 12th win of the season – the most since 2009 (12). A-State is 5-5 in conference play, the most league wins since 2000 (7).
This season, Grigoreva is 10-8 in dual-match singles play at the No. 1 position, while going 9-10 in doubles play.
