JONESBORO, Ark. (7/6/23) – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced today its 2022-23 All-American Scholars, and Arkansas State placed five student-athletes on the prestigious list.
Arkansas State has now placed multiple players on the list in 13 consecutive years. Among Sun Belt programs, A-State was second with five selections behind six from Southern Miss. This year’s WGCA All-American Scholars includes A-State’s Kayla Burke, Olivia Coit, Olivia Schmidt, Elise Schultz and Casey Sommer.
The WGCA All-American Scholars Team requires a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA and participation in at least 50 percent of the team’s tournament in order to be eligible for the honor. Schmidt receives the honor for a fifth time while Burke and Schultz appear for the fourth time. Sommer garners the distinction for a second time while Coit receives the honor for the first time.
