LUBBOCK, Texas (1/30/25) – A trio of multi eventists competed for Arkansas State track and field on Thursday at the Stan Scott Invite and Multis inside the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center.
Miranda Burgett and Izzy Daines competed in the pentathlon, while Colby Eddowes contested in the first day of the heptathlon.
Burgett finished third in the pentathlon standings, scoring 3,580 points, while Daines placed fifth with a total of 3,418. Both recorded season-best marks in the 60-meter hurdles portion of the day.
In the heptathlon, Eddowes opened in third place after the 60 meters but moved into the top spot with a jump of 7.39m (24-3) to win the long jump. He remained in first after Day 1, totaling 3,275 points through the first four events.
Eddowes concludes the heptathlon Friday, while A-State will also compete in the Stan Scott Invite as well as the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in Louisville, Ky. Friday’s competition at Texas Tech will be streamed live on ESPN+.
