JONESBORO, Ark. (5/2/24) – Arkansas State women’s basketball head coach Destinee Rogers announced Thursday the addition of transfer guard Zyion Shannon to the 2024-25 roster.
Shannon began her intercollegiate career at Tennessee State, averaging 7.3 points per game along with 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals over two seasons. The Smyrna, Tennessee, native helped lead the Tigers to the OVC quarterfinals after averaging 13.3 points on a 38.5 percent clip from deep during conference play last season.
“We are so excited to add Zy to our roster,” Rogers said. “She is a 5’10 versatile guard that can score on all three levels. She will make an immediate impact. We can’t wait to get her on campus!”
Shannon averaged 25.3 minutes per game and made a team-high 24 three-pointers during the 2023-24 campaign. She enters her first season with the Red Wolves as a junior and has two years of eligibility remaining.
