LINCOLN, Neb. (2/22/25) – The fourth-ranked Arkansas State women’s bowling team downed 3,829 pins in four traditional matches Saturday to stand third among eight teams entering the final day of the Big Red Invitational.

A-State (69-30) went 2-2 in head-to-head traditional matches, topping No. 13 McKendree (941-855) and Quincy (1,026-663), but falling to No. 7 Wichita State (953-1,052) and host No. 1 Nebraska (909-960). Nebraska leads total pinfall with a two-day total of 9,731 (216.2) with Wichita State second (9,333) and the Red Wolves third (9,099). McKendree (8,938), Valparaiso (8,626), Central Missouri (8,574), Elmhurst (7,925) and Quincy (5,732) round out the field.

Karli VanDuinen led the Red Wolves with a four-game total of 800 pins. She had a high of 207 against Nebraska and added 201 against Quincy to finish 15th individually. Maggie Thoma ranked 16th with 791 pins with a pair of 200-plus games. Saralyne Nassberg ranked 18th downing 783 pins in four games. Katie Ruszczak (404), Amanda Lang (374) and Kaylee Back (340) rolled two games apiece while Alex-Anne Auclair had a 200 total in one game and Malaya Chavez had 137.

A-State faces No. 7 Wichita State in the semifinal bracket match Sunday morning with the winner facing No. 1 Nebraska or No. 13 McKendree for the championship. All matches are available to watch by searching for Red Wolves Bowling on YouTube.
