TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (4/11/25) – Arkansas State track and field opened the Crimson Tide Invitational with a trio of career bests on Friday at Sam Bailey Stadium.
Noa Isaia threw a career-best mark for the fourth straight week in the men’s hammer throw, placing fifth in the invite section with a toss of 62.54m (205-2). In the open section, Chris Boyd placed 15th with a season-best 50.08m, while Menachem Chen threw 46.68m (153-2) in his 21st-place finish.
In the women’s hammer throw, Michelle Ogbemudia was fourth, throwing 52.74m (173-0).
Chen placed sixth in the men’s discus invite, throwing 54.30m (178-2). Later in the day, Boyd threw a career-best 50.18m (164-7) in a seventh-place finish, while Isaia was ninth, throwing the implement 49.50m (162-5). In the women’s event, Liya Guy threw 42.89m (140-8), placing 11th.
On the track, Ivanna Hargis ran a career-best 18:11.50 in a 17th-place finish in the women’s 5000 meters. Matthew Dunsworth was 31st in the men’s 5000, finishing in 15:31.98.
A-State’s Saturday competition begins at 12:30 p.m. with the women’s long jump and javelin.
