JONESBORO, Ark. (3/29/25) – Arkansas State baseball (12-14, 3-5 SBC) fell in an 8-2 decision against ULM (12-15, 2-6 SBC) on Saturday night at Tomlinson Stadium, setting up a winner-take-all series finale scheduled for 12 p.m. on Sunday, March 30.

Andrew Allen (0-2) made his second career start, surrendering one earned run on three walks while striking out three batters over 1.1 innings pitched. Tyler Weimer pitched in the final 3.2 innings, striking out six batters and allowing only two hits.

The Red Wolves tallied six hits, with Cason Campbell and Cason Tollett recording the only RBIs.

ULM took advantage of an HBP and three consecutive walks to claim a 1-0 lead in the second inning. The Warhawks scored the next run on an RBI-single to claim a 2-0 lead in the fourth.

The deficit grew to seven in the top of the sixth following a five run inning for the opposition. In the next frame, Tollett batted in the first run for A-State and reached on a fielder’s choice to make the score 7-1.

ULM pushed the lead back to seven in the top of the eighth while Campbell nullified the run with an RBI-groundout in the bottom of the ninth, but that would be all for the Scarlet and Black. Daniel Gonzalez (2-1) earned the win and Aidan Haynes claimed the save while Allen took the loss.
