CONWAY, S.C. (4/5/25) – Arkansas State Baseball (13-17, 4-7 SBC) tied it up late against Coastal Carolina (23-8, 8-3 SBC), but three unanswered runs made the difference in a 4-1 defeat on Saturday afternoon at Spring Brooks Stadium.

Jelle van der Lelie made his third start of the season, surrendering one earned run on one hit while striking out one over 4.1 innings pitched. At the plate, Cason Campbell led the bats with two hits while Jake Henry Williams batted in the Scarlet and Black’s lone run.

The scoreless tie broke during the bottom of the fifth when the Chanticleers scored on an RBI-groundout. With one out in the next frame, Williams reached on a fielding error while Wil French crossed the plate uncontested to make the score 1-1.

Coastal Carolina responded with one run in each of the next three innings to open a three-run lead, and the Red Wolves would not be able to respond. Ryan Lynch (2-1) earned the win and Dominick Carbone claimed the save while Kole Turner (1-3) took the loss.
