ATLANTA (4/6/25) – Arkansas State women’s tennis dropped a 4-2 decision at Georgia State Sunday at the Georgia State Tennis Complex.
Anna Grigoreva and Loles Carbo Chova accounted for singles wins for A-State (11-9, 4-5 SBC), which tied up the match at 2-all, but the Panthers (5-11, 4-4) notched wins on courts 4 and 5 to clinch.
GSU clinched doubles with wins on courts 2 and 3. Francesca Miglio and Maria Paredes topped A-State’s Lilly Cvanciger and Abigail Thurmer 6-4, and then Luciana Galvez and Sara Radojevic clinched the point with a 7-5 victory against Hanmare McAslin and Sarah Millard.
At the time the point was clinched, Grigoreva and Carla Muro Castellvi led 6-5 on court 1 against Pragnya Kumar and Sierra Sandy.
Grigoreva opened singles play with a 6-2, 6-3 win on court 1 over Paredes, and then the hosts reclaimed a 2-1 lead when Miglio won 7-5, 6-2 against Cvanciger.
Loles Carbo Chova won her team-leading ninth straight match at the No. 6 spot, defeating Kumar 6-4, 6-3 to make it 2-all. Radojevic then defeated Millard 7-6, 6-1 before Galvez clinched the match with a 6-4, 6-4 decision over McAslin on No. 4. Muro Castellvi and Zeynep Erbakan were knotted up at a set apiece when the match was halted.
