JONESBORO, Ark. (6/12/24) – Five Arkansas State women’s bowling student-athletes were named NTCA All-Academic Scholar-Athletes and the A-State squad was among 61 programs to earn NTCA All-Academic Team Award distinction.
To earn the NTCA All-Academic Team Award, programs must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher. A-State posted a 3.57 GPA to be among the 61 programs on the list. Malaya Chavez, Jessica Schnurr, Melanie Straub, Emma Stull and Faith Welch each posted a GPA above 3.4 to be among the 365 honorees representing 75 schools among the NTCA All-Academic Scholar-Athlete list.
A-State finished runner-up at the National Collegiate Bowling Championship for the third time in the last four seasons and fourth time in program history. The Red Wolves closed out the 2023-24 season with a 87-28 record and four tournament titles.
