JONESBORO, Ark. (4/14/25) – Paced by individual leader Jake Lile, the Arkansas State men’s golf team boasts seven players in the 15 and leads the A-State Spring Invitational after 36 holes at RidgePointe Country Club.
Lile carded a first-round 6-under 66 to take the individual lead and followed it with a 5-under 67 to finish the first day atop the leaderboard. Thomas Schmidt sits five shots back of Lile with a first-round 2-under 70 followed by a 4-under 68 in the second 18. Jack Maxey is tied for fourth (-4), while Milan Reed (-3) is tied for sixth as an individual. Jake Wallis (-3) is also tied for sixth entering Tuesday’s final round. Chris Somerfield and Pierce Johnson are tied for 15th at 1-over, while Cole Kirby (+6) is tied for 35th as an individual.
A-State totaled 24-under par 552 as a team. After a 13-under par 275 in the first 18, the Red Wolves shot an 11-under 277 in the second round. A-State leads Houston Christian (-5) and Xavier (-1) in the top three, while Southeastern Louisiana (+6) and Austin Peay (+8) round out the top five.
