The deficit closed to three after a three-point play from Crislyn Rose was followed with the Red Wolves’ first triple from Shaunae Brown. After Old Dominion extended their lead to six, four-straight free throws from Bella Weary and a layup from Kennedie Montue tied the game at 29-29 with 5:35 to go.

After cutting the deficit to seven with 8:47 to go, 10 of the next 12 points would go to Old Dominion. The Scarlet and Black mounted one final rally attempt with a 13-4 run at the 5:12 mark, but the Monarchs’ advantage was too much to overcome.
