    MANHATTAN, Kan./COLUMBIA, Mo. (2/7/25) – Six athletes won their respective events on Friday to highlight a stellar day for the Arkansas State track and field teams at meets hosted by Kansas State and Missouri.  

    Bradley Jelmert set a facility record at the Steve Miller Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas, clearing a season-best 5.54m (18-2) to win the men’s pole vault. At the Missouri Invitational, Jacob Dorrell was first in the event with a clearance of 4.91m (16-1.25). Gavin Schaer finished second behind Dorrell, clearing 4.76m (15-7.25), while Brandon Love was fourth (4.31m/14-1.75).

    Will Glass and Kiara Strayhorn swept the men’s and women’s 60-meter hurdles. Glass finished in 7.82 while Strayhorn clocked a time of 8.42 that is tied for fifth in school history. Tyra Nabors also ran in the women’s final, finishing fourth with a time of 8.55. Strayhorn and Nabors posted the top two qualifying marks at 8.52 and 8.57, respectively.

    Strayhorn also won the women’s long jump, leaping 5.91m (19-4.75). She finished ahead of Nyima Williamson (5th, 5.67m/18-7.25) and Me’Kiyah Earnest (16th, 4.86m/15-11.5). At Missouri, Izzy Daines was fifth with a season-best distance of 5.21m (17-1.25).

    Madison Haldiman won the women’s mile and moved to 10th in school history in the event, running 5:00.86. Malena Cybak clocked a career-best time of 5:06.99 to place seventh. In the invitational section, Maja Dzialoszewska was fifth with a time of 5:04.99.

    Noa Isaia got the Red Wolves’ day started in a big way, throwing a career-best 20.90m (68-7) to place second in the men’s weight throw. His mark, which improved him to second in program history, bested his previous top mark by over four feet.

    Spencer Taylor also etched his name inside the all-time top 10 in the men’s 200 meters, running 21.64 in a runner-up finish to tie for seventh in school history. Camren Bailey followed in third (21.70), while Javarian Otey ran a career-best 21.88 to place sixth. Mehki Hoo rounded out the quartet, running 22.87 in an 18th-place finish.

    In the men’s 3000 meters, Avinash Patel ran a personal-best 8:30.36 to place fourth, while Olivia Walter was sixth in the women’s race with a career-best time of 9:52.40.

    Michelle Ogbemudia placed fifth in both throwing events. She threw 15.64m (51-3.75) in the shot put and recorded a mark of 19.92m (65-4.25) in the weight throw. Chris Boyd placed sixth in the men’s shot put with a best throw of 17.02m (55-10.25).

    Camren Bailey finished eighth in the final of the men’s 60 meters, finishing in 6.96. He qualified with a time of 6.92. Javarian Otey (6.95) and Malik Hall (7.05) placed 11th and 18th in the prelims. In the women’s preliminary round, Reneisha Andrews was ninth with a time of 7.65. Andrews also ran in the 200 meters, placing 14th with a time of 26.18.

    Kamil Przybyla posted a runner-up finish in the men’s 1000 meters, running 2:26.05. Brandon Williams registered an eighth-place finish in the men’s 600 yards, finishing in 1:11.54.

    In the women’s pole vault, Carly Pujol cleared 4.07m (13-4.25) while Kaci Andrus vaulted a season-best 3.77m (12-4.5). At Missouri, McKenna Hall cleared 3.32m (10-10.75) to place sixth.

    At Missouri, Keniya Simpson (7.86) and AJ Allen (7.91) placed seventh and eighth, with Allen’s time setting a season best. Hanyla Milligan (16th, 8.04) and Nyla Watson (18th, 8.10) also competed and recorded top-20 finishes. In the men’s section, Jourdan Clements led three finishes with an 11th-place time of 7.07. CJ Burge was 16th (7.12) and Sebastian Mejia was 20th (7.22).

    In the 60-meter hurdles qualifying, Kenyon Parker ran a season-best 8.16 and Josh Jones finished in 8.18 behind Glass’ top qualifying time of 7.90. Parker was also seventh in the men’s high jump with a clearance of 1.93m (6-4).

    Matthew Williams jumped 6.96m (22-10) to place 10th in the men’s long jump. Earnest placed 11th in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 11.11m (36-5.5).

    In the women’s 200 meters at Missouri, Milligan (26.17) and Watson (26.67) placed 16th and 18th, while Izzy Daines ran an indoor-best 27.41. Burge was 17th in the men’s race (22.69), and Mejia clocked a collegiate-best 22.79 to place 20th.

    Jada Buggs was sixth in the women’s 400 meters, running a career-best 57.58. At Mizzou, Je’Breiyah Chapman ran a career-best 59.16, while Kneila Watson crossed in 1:00.14. Jeremiah Green had a season-best time of 50.57 in the men’s event, placing ninth.

    NEXT UP

    A-State continues its indoor season next week in its final week of competition ahead of the Sun Belt Conference Championships (Feb. 24-25). The Red Wolves are scheduled to compete in a trio of meets Friday and Saturday: the Music City Challenge (Nashville, Tenn.), Samford Bulldog Invite (Birmingham, Ala.) and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (Boston, Mass.).
