THREE THINGS TO NOTE:
1. PYEATT NAMED TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: After breaking the program record in the 3000 meters and nearly doing so in the mile last week, Jacob Pyeatt earned Sun Belt Men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors. He became the first A-State runner to run faster than 8 minutes in the 3000, and finished just .11 seconds shy of the school’s top mile mark. Entering this week, Pyeatt leads the league in the 3000 and 5000 while ranking second in the mile.
2. #EVENTSQUAD: Arkansas State has three event groups ranked among the top 15 nationally in this season’s first installment of the USTFCCCA #EventSquad Rankings, which ranks the top event groups based upon its best four performers. A-State is 12th in the men’s pole vault, while ranking 13th in the men’s 60-meter hurdles men’s shot put.
