Get ready to celebrate the incredible work being done in our community at the 2nd Annual KLEK Kwanzaa CommUNITY Awards! This exciting event highlights individuals and organizations that embody the seven guiding principles of Kwanzaa: Unity, Self-Determination, Collective Work and Responsibility, Cooperative Economics, Purpose, Creativity, and Faith.

A special highlight of the evening is the Qubilah Jones “Bee Intentional” Community Service Award, which continues to honor those who excel in serving others while bringing their own unique touch to community service.

Last year, six remarkable individuals and organizations were honored. This year, we’re expanding with two honorees—one individual and one business/organization—for each of the seven Kwanzaa principles, along with the Qubilah Jones Award. That brings the total to 16 awards, offering even more opportunities to celebrate the impact these changemakers have on our community.

Do you know someone deserving of recognition? Nominate them today! Fill out the form on this post to submit your nomination. We have extended the nominations period. Nominations will now close on October 25, 2024, so don’t wait—help us celebrate those who are making a difference.

Let’s come together to honor the individuals and organizations that embody the spirit of Kwanzaa, service, and community! Stay tuned for more details on the event, and get ready to applaud the changemakers in our area.
