JONESBORO, Ark. (5/17/24) – A total of 11 Arkansas State track and field athletes were recognized by the Sun Belt Conference as all-conference performers Friday.
All-SBC honors are based on athletes’ highest podium finish at the championships. Gold medalists earned first-team honors, while those winning silver and bronze received second and third-team laurels.
A-State’s women’s team boasted seven all-conference honorees, including first-teamers Bella Coscetti (pole vault) and Elizabeth Martin (3000-meter steeplechase). Steeplechase silver medalist Cadence Lapp earned a second-team nod, while Rahel Broemmel (1500 meters), Izzy Daines (heptathlon), Cheyenne Melvin (800 meters) and Selase Sampram (shot put) received third-team acclaim.
Four men earned all-league laurels, all on the first team. Colby Eddowes repeated as decathlon champion and broke his own championship record, while Willem Coertzen (shot put), Hannes Fahl (800 meters) and Cash Kunkel (3000-meter steeplechase) also finished at the top of their respective events.

Seven Red Wolves will continue their season next week at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds, with hopes of advancing to the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Action at West Prelims runs Wednesday-Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
