JONESBORO, Ark. (6/19/24) – Arkansas State volleyball is set to host 11 home contests inside First National Bank Arena, as Head Coach Brian Gerwig announced the full 2024 slate on Wednesday.
The Red Wolves, coming off their first postseason appearance since 2018, are scheduled to take on five opponents that reached the postseason last year, including four NCAA Tournament squads. Nine foes finished with .500 or better marks in 2023, including six with 20 or more victories.
A-State opens the campaign at home for the fifth consecutive season, hosting Southeast Missouri and Ole Miss on Aug. 30 before taking on Saint Louis (Aug. 31) to conclude the A-State Invitational.
The Red Wolves then open September at former Sun Belt foe Middle Tennessee, battling Lehigh (Sept. 6), Austin Peay (Sept. 7) and the host Blue Raiders (Sept. 8). A trip to North Alabama follows, with matches against UNA and UAB (Sept. 13), as well as Jacksonville State (Sept. 14).
A trip to perennial top-25 squad and former league counterpart Western Kentucky (Sept. 20) concludes non-conference play, a multi-team event that also includes matches versus Austin Peay (Sept. 20) and Eastern Illinois (Sept. 21).
Georgia State treks to Jonesboro to open Sun Belt Conference play (Sept. 27-28), followed by a trip to Southern Miss (Oct. 4-5). The Red Wolves then host ULM (Oct. 11-12) before traveling to Texas State (Oct. 18-19). Troy (Oct. 24-25) then takes on the Scarlet and Black in Jonesboro to end October.
A-State then travels to Louisiana (Nov. 1-2) before hosting South Alabama (Nov. 8-9) in the final home matches of the season, followed by a trip to Old Dominion (Nov. 14-15) to end the regular-season.
The 2024 Sun Belt Conference Volleyball Championship will once again be held in Foley, Ala., running from Nov. 20-24.
